Here are some great ways to get to know your paddling community! Check with any board member if you’re interested in helping out.
- WAKE Board member: The best way to rub elbows with experienced kayakers. Join the board!
- Newsletter and/or website: Edit the monthly newsletter or keep the website updated.
- Ski to Sea Safety Boats: Float as a safety boater during the kayak leg of the race.
- Kayak Skills WAKE Symposium: Setup, help with classes, manage the potluck, cook, run the show.
- Members Helping Members: Organize an evening at Lake Padden.
- Day Paddles for Members: Offer to lead a day paddle.
- Multi-Day Trips: Lead a trip.
- Regular Club Meetings: Setup, help the presenter, clean up.
- Annual Tri Club Picnic: Organize, cook, lead a paddle, help with the gear swap.
- Annual Holiday Party/Silent Auction: Decorate, contribute, cook, clean up.
- Lummi Campsite Stewardship: Periodically paddle as a group and repair/revive the campsites.
- Club Library: Help the librarian or take it over.
